House Extensions
Add more living space without the cost or hassle of moving. Merge an old building with new, or simply put your stamp on your home.
When building an extension, you may choose to build over two or three stories, so you can get extra living space on the ground floor, an additional bedroom, home office, or a bigger bathroom upstairs.
When building out on the ground floor only, you may not need planning permission. You can build an extension or conservatory to the rear of your house as long as it: (i) Does not increase the original floor area of the house by more than 40 square metres and (ii) Is not higher than the house. Also, the extension must not reduce the open space at the back of the house (that is used only by the people who live in the house) to less than 25 square metres.
This is a great way to open up your ground floor living space and/or even introduce a new floor plan layout. The types of windows and doors you use can help bring your garden into your home, making entertaining family and friends easy.
